Liverpool suffered an embarrassing exit from the Champions League after losing to Real Madrid on a 6-2 aggregate in their round of 16 tie.

With the Reds out of the FA Cup, they only have a top-four finish to fight for this season.

However, that looks tough with Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Brighton & Hove Albion competing for the Champions League places.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will not play for the next two weeks due to the international break. They will resume their league campaign at the start of next month – we look at Liverpool’s fixtures in April.

Manchester City – April 1 (A)

Man City vs Liverpool is always highly entertaining. The last time these two sides met was in the Carabao Cup, where Pep Guardiola’s side prevailed in a 3-2 thriller.

The Cityzens led twice only to get pegged back before Nathan Ake scored the decisive goal to knock their rivals out of the competition.

However, Liverpool triumphed 1-0 over City in the Anfield league encounter in October, with Mohamed Salah scoring the late winner. Will the Reds be able to perform a similar feat at the Etihad Stadium?

Chelsea – April 4 (A)

Chelsea have been largely unconvincing this season but have improved their performances in recent weeks.

They overturned a one-goal deficit against Borussia Dortmund in the second leg at Stamford Bridge to win their Champions League last-16 tie on a 2-1 aggregate.

The Blues also defeated Leeds United and Leicester City in the Premier League to restore some confidence.

Chelsea played out a goalless draw in their previous league meeting with Liverpool, but they have home advantage on this occasion.

Arsenal – April 9 (H)

The difficult list of fixtures continues for Jurgen Klopp’s men in April as they host leaders Arsenal following their Stamford Bridge encounter.

The Gunners are competing with Manchester City to win the Premier League title and are highly motivated to win all their remaining games to end their title drought.

Arsenal ran out 3-2 winners in their previous league encounter with the Reds at the Emirates Stadium, with Bukayo Saka providing a vital contribution by bagging a brace.

Leeds United – April 17 (A)

Leeds face a tough battle to stay in the top flight this season. They are 14th in the table, just two points above the relegation zone.

However, the Whites pulled off a superb 4-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

This shows the lure of staying in the richest football league is motivating them to produce their best efforts on the pitch. The Yorkshire side could be difficult opponents for Liverpool.

5- Nottingham Forest – April 22 (H)

Nottingham Forest have been struggling in the English top flight and are winless in their last six matches.

However, Steve Cooper’s side produced a brilliant performance the last time they met Liverpool at the City Ground, winning the league encounter by a 1-0 margin.

The Reds will look for revenge when they face Forest at Anfield. Given the quality in their squad, they shouldn’t have too many problems.

West Ham United – April 26 (A)

West Ham have endured a disappointing season. Despite being heavily backed in the summer, David Moyes has failed to deliver results.

His position has been under intense scrutiny and he could be sacked before the end of the season.

Liverpool, who registered a slender 1-0 win over the Hammers in October, will be looking to claim a double when they meet each other towards the end of April.

Tottenham Hotspur – April 30 (H)

Liverpool cannot afford to lose against Tottenham who are also one of the leading contenders for a top-four finish.

The Reds registered a 2-1 win over the north Londoners in their previous fixture in November and will be looking to repeat the same feat in April.
