Liverpool holding firm to avoid attacker sealing exit

Liverpool are insisting that Harvey Elliott is not available for a loan transfer this summer window as a number of clubs are being linked with him, most notably Sheffield United in the Sky Bet Championship.

The Reds have had a quiet summer transfer window so far this year with only Ibrahima Konate arriving at the club, whilst Gini Wijnaldum has been an obvious exit.

Clearly, then, the squad doesn’t need to lose too many players, particularly if the Reds have plans for them, and that seems to be the case with Elliott according to The Athletic:

Liverpool are right to be holding firm here.

The Reds clearly see Elliott as a real bright spark in the squad and one for the future as well as potentially one for now here and there.

Exposing him to some first-team action is going to be important this coming season and it makes sense the club is not interested in even letting him leave on loan.
