It has been a dream maiden Premier League season for new Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Not even the most optimistic Liverpool fans could’ve hoped the ex-Feyenoord boss would do what Jurgen Klopp only managed once during his remarkable nine-year stint at Anfield.
However, the 46-year-old has outperformed expectations en route to leading the Merseyside powerhouse to a long-awaited 20th title in England’s top flight.
Liverpool have ascended the throne for only the second time in the Premier League, last doing so in the 2019/20 campaign marred by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Extraordinary circumstances prevented the team from celebrating the title with the fans or holding a trophy parade through the city, making Slot’s success this season even more special.
For the first time since May 1990, Liverpool supporters will flood the streets to celebrate a top-flight title without restrictions, turning the city into a sea of red as they honour the club’s record-equalling milestone.
It’s needless to waste words explaining a long-standing rivalry between Liverpool and Manchester United – it’s a feud etched into the very fabric of English football, fuelled by history and pride.
Yet, for so many years, the Red Devils’ faithful had the bragging rights, rubbing their title haul in the Reds’ faces but not anymore.
Slot’s sterling exploits in the dugout inspired the six-time European champions to their 20th title, putting them on a par with the Old Trafford giants.
The Dutchman’s achievement carries even greater significance when factoring in the turbulent transition period post-Klopp, the weight of expectations and the fierce competition at the top of the table.
Slot has been breaking records for fun this season.
Liverpool took to X to hail their title-winning manager for setting a new club record as a 2-1 home win against West Ham United on April 13 marked his 36th victory in his first 50 matches in the dugout.
As such, Slot has surpassed Joe Fagan, the first English manager to win three major trophies in a single season, for the number of wins in his first 50 games at the helm.
Furthermore, the ex-Feyenoord boss trumped iconic Liverpool figure Kenny Dalglish in the same category, not to mention bettering Klopp’s record by ten.
In addition, Slot has joined an elite society, becoming only the fifth manager in Premier League history to win the title in their first year in English football.
Only Carlo Ancelotti, Antonio Conte, Jose Mourinho and Manuel Pellegrini had achieved this impressive feat before Slot, making him the latest name in a prestigious group of managerial heavyweights to conquer England at the first attempt.
Slot has been the mastermind behind Liverpool’s imperious title run, but Mohamed Salah has been the on-field talisman, delivering match-winning moments and leading by example when it mattered most.
Rewarded with a new contract for his unparalleled influence on and off the pitch, Salah continues to embody the club’s ambitions, serving as a beacon of consistency.
A point of difference, a goalscorer, an assist provider and a leader, Salah’s simply built differently, and his unprecedented figures this season support this claim.
Salah is on course to equal Thierry Henry’s record for the most Golden Boot awards in Premier League history, further solidifying his status as one of the league’s all-time greats.
With 28 goals, he’s the division’s most prolific marksman, with Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak trailing the ‘Egyptian King’ by six.
However, the 32-year-old is also the best playmaker in the league, racking up an astonishing 18 assists.
Combining those numbers you get the most goal contribution by a player in one Premier League season, making Salah stand out as one of the most prolific and influential figures in the league’s history.
