Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher can see Jose Mourinho bringing success to Tottenham.
Carragher feels Mourinho has a point to prove to his critics this season.
He told the Sunday World: "I don't like when I hear people say the game has moved on from certain managers, I think it's disrespectful considering what someone has done in the game.
"The game goes in cycles. Defensive football or counter attacking football, which Jose is associated with, might come back. It might be the fashion again. It's wasn't long against the (Antonio) Conte won the Premier League at Chelsea playing like that and Leicester won the league. To talk about Jose like that is too harsh.
"There is no doubt that the football we see now, the high-energy football is not the football we saw when we won the Champions League under Rafa (Benitez) or when Jose was winning titles with Chelsea. They had a different way.
"I am not one for writing off a style of football or saying this style is right and this style is wrong, but clearly things have changed thanks to managers like Klopp and Guardiola.
"It wasn't that long ago that he won a title with Chelsea in his second spell at the club, but it is just in terms of getting it right and match the teams that play a different way are now winning more consistently."
