In a recent report, talkSPORT stated that Liverpool have opened talks to sign Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo this summer. It has been revealed that the Reds are showing interest in recruiting the Brazilian talent this off-season.
Rodrygo enjoyed a decent run of form at the Madrid club after he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The Brazilian talent scored 14 times and earned 11 assists in 54 appearances for Real Madrid last season in all competitions.
The 24-year-old proved his worth in the final third by averaging 2.52 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He kept 37% of his attempts on target. Rodrygo was even tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 85.9% in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com).
Rodrygo is under contract at the Spanish club until the summer of 2028. Hence, it won’t be easy for Liverpool to get a deal over the line for him this off-season.

Rodrygo is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.
The Brazil international can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He mainly operates as a right-winger but can also play as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if told to do so.
Rodrygo would inject more firepower into Liverpool head coach Arne Slot’s attack. He might even help the Reds challenge for some major honours over the next few years.
At 24, Rodrygo has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for the Merseyside club to consider in this transfer period. However, he might need some time to adjust to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of recruiting a player of his skill set. All in all, Rodrygo would be an excellent option for the Reds to pursue this summer.
