Pepijn Linders has been promoted to Liverpool assistant manager following the departure of Željko Buvač last season.
Buvač made a shock exit from Anfield on the eve of their Champions League semi-final against Roma last term with reports at the time citing ‘personal reasons’ for his departure.
The Bosnian Serb has been an official club employee in the months since but he has now been removed from the first-team staff list on the club’s official website – ending his 17-year partnership with Jürgen Klopp.
That has now led to the official promotion of Lijnders who returned to Anfield last year after an ill-fated five months in charge of NEC Nijmegen in the Netherlands.
The 35-year-old has been given the assistant manager title, sharing the position with Peter Krawietz.
