Mohamed Salah’s return date remains unclear after ankle injury

It is unclear when Mohamed Salah could return for Liverpool as the Egyptian continues to have treatment on his ankle, according to Sky Sports.

The Liverpool forward initially injured his ankle in the win over Leicester City.

Salah was hacked down by Hamza Choudhury in the second half, and the Egyptian also missed our draw against Manchester United.

The 27-year-old again injured his ankle in the win over Manchester City and was replaced late in the game by Jurgen Klopp.

The Egyptian was recently pictured wearing a protective boot around his left ankle, and Sky Sports claims that Salah has been given additional time away from Liverpool to continue his rehab.

The report adds that there is no set return date for the 27-year-old. Salah remains a doubt for the trip to Crystal Palace after the international break (h/t Sky Sports).

Salah not featuring for Egypt

Although the Egyptian has joined his national side, Salah will not play in the games against Kenya and Comoros.

The 27-year-old has nine goals in all competitions for the Reds and scored in the win over City too.

Liverpool hold an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League and need Salah to return quickly.
