The 24-year-old provided an update on her fitness via a post on her personal Twitter account earlier today.
Foster has been sidelined for the last 18 months after suffering serious injuries in a road traffic accident. It was very much a case of touch and go whether the keeper would ever be able to play professional football again but doctors have given Foster the green light to continue her career.
The Canadian international has spent a long period rebuilding her fitness. Foster is still a few months away from being available for selection and the player has revealed that she has had to have surgery on her shoulder, adding a further complexity to her potential return.
Speaking about her latest injury, Foster said “After nine months and being so close to returning to full training, we hit a bump in the road. A tear in my labrum has been preventing me from moving onto the final stages of getting back to the pitch. Surgery was a success on my shoulder, thank you all for your love and support!”
Foster joined Liverpool in the January 2020 transfer window. The player has only made a handful of appearances for the club but it is clear to see that she has real talent and can be a huge success at both club and international levels.
