Liverpool have been given a huge injury boost as it has been revealed that Fabinho could be back after the November international break.
According to The Mirror, Fabinho has had a scan on his hamstring injury and the results are that it is a grade one or two tear.
The report claims that this means that it is only a short-term knock for the midfielder, which is excellent news given that a grade three tear could have ruled him out for six months – the majority of the 2020/21 campaign.
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
Fabinho coming back could be huge for Liverpool given the quality of some of his performances this season. He has played four games at centre-back this season for the Reds, averaging an impressive WhoScored rating of 7.18 as he has covered for several players at the back. This shows how key he has been to Liverpool’s team so far this season and how he has been able to successfully transition from being a reliable defensive midfielder to a centre-back who can be relied upon.
As a midfielder, Fabinho averaged a score of 6.89 in the Premier League as Liverpool won the Premier League title. He racked up over three tackles and interceptions per game, showing off his defensive skills in the heart of Liverpool’s midfield. So, Klopp could be delighted to have a player of his calibre back in the picture after the upcoming international break, as it could allow him to play Fabinho next to Gomez or use young Williams at centre-back and bring Fabinho back into midfield.
