Liverpool forward Walters completes Sheffield United move
FAWSL Full-Time
The 28-year-old Welsh international forward joined Liverpool on non-contract terms in September but she will spend the remainder of the campaign with The Reds’ FA Women’s Championship rivals Sheffield United.
The Blades announced the signing of the forward via an official club press release this evening.
Walters has made nine appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season but has failed to score. It should be noted that the forward has been short of game time with Walters starting just three of those games. The player can also count Reading and Blackburn Rovers amongst her former clubs.
After completing her move to Sheffield United, Walters said “I didn’t have much time to think about it but I didn’t need much time to think about it. I came in and met Redders and obviously recognised some of the girls from around the league.
“Sheffield United have a really good squad and if I’m honest, I don’t think the current league position reflects the quality in the squad and the team so I’m really happy to be onboard and grateful it’s all gone through before the weekend.”
Walters could be in-line to make her Sheffield United debut when Coventry United are the visitors to The Technique Stadium on Sunday.
