Liverpool forward Leanne Kiernan has signed a new contract with the club ahead of the new season.

The Reds announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

Kiernan joined Liverpool in summer 2021 after leaving former club West Ham United. The player netted 13 goals for The Reds in the Barclays Women’s Championship in 2021/2022 as the club won the league title along with promotion back to the top flight.

The forward missed most of the 2022/2023 season with an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury but she went on to score five goals in 14 Barclays Women’s Super League appearances for Liverpool last term.

After signing on again with Liverpool, Kiernan said “It’s amazing, for sure. Liverpool is home for me, I’m just really enjoying myself here. I love the club, I love the fans, I love the people. We are very similar, the Irish and the Scousers, and I really feel at home here.

“It is massive for my family as well. Obviously they come over quite often, which is really nice, and it is the closest city to Dublin. They really enjoy coming over and when I told them I was getting a new contract they were ecstatic.”

Kiernan is the third player to sign a new contract at Liverpool this summer.
