Liverpool have been urged to cash in on Mohamed Salah this summer amid claims that clubs from the Saudi Pro League are now willing to wait a year to land the forward on a free transfer.

It was just last summer when Al-Ittihad were reported to have gone as high as £150 million for the Egypt international, however, according to a latest report from the Telegraph, SPL clubs are going to keep their powder dry in the chase for the Reds star this time around.

Of course, were a similar offer to present itself this summer, it would be tempting as it would go a long way to funding a first-team rebuild under new head coach Arne Slot and former England international goalkeeper Paul Robinson thinks now is the time for Salah to move on.

"What has he got? Is it 12 months left on his contract? So from a business point of view, now is the time to let him go," he said on the Football Insider podcast. "You're never going to get the £100million for him halfway through the season in January."

Jurgen Klopp plays padel

Almost a full week has passed since Jurgen Klopp managed his final Liverpool game and what an emotional afternoon it was at Anfield.

Now for the first time since 2015, the German has some free time on his hands. And he's making the most of it by rediscovering a former passion - playing padel. This is a cross between squash and tennis that is universally loved by footballers.

Taking to Instagram and to keep his followers updated on what he’s been up to since leaving the Reds, Klopp thanked supporters for the the send-off after the 2-0 win over Wolves and amid clear blue skies, revealed that he’s back playing padel,

"Now what I’m doing, I try – no, no, I follow – my other big passion. I try to improve my padel game,” he said on the Instagram post.

Liverpool's £3m Kamil Grabara mistake

Liverpool may have made a huge mistake in letting Kamil Grabara leave for as little as £3 million in 2021.

The goalkeeper had been on the books at Anfield from the age of 16 having impressed with Ruch Chorzow, and eventually went on to enjoy loan spells with Aarhus GF and Huddersfield Town to aid his development.

However, with no clear path to the first-team Grabara was sold to Copenhagen for £3m in 2021 and after impressing in Denmark has now secured an £11.5m move to Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg where he's been tipped by former Everton midfielder Thomas Gravesen to earn a move to Bayern Munich in the future.

"Wolfsburg is not the final destination for Kamil Grabara," said the former Denmark international. "Wolfsburg is the next stepping stone in his career. If he comes to Wolfsburg and underperforms, the stepping stone will be very small."

Arne Slot spotted on Merseyside

Not long now until Arne Slot officially starts work as Liverpool head coach, and in the meantime the Dutchman is getting a head start on acclimatizing to life on Merseyside.

It was announced on Monday that following an agreement between the Reds and Feyenoord for a compensation package of approximately £9.4m, the 45-year-old has succeeded Jurgen Klopp at Anfield with his tenure set to begin on June 1, 2024.

And with the Eredivisie season concluding last weekend, the new Liverpool boss has already travelled to Merseyside as he bids to get to know the city of Liverpool and the surrounding area before pre-season training commences in July.

So much so that he was spotted dining at the luxurious Moor Hall Restaurant in Aughton, just ten miles from Liverpool and close to his new home in Formby - which is actually his predecessor Klopp's old residence.

Pep Lijnders reveals reason for Liverpool snub

Prior to Arne Slot's appointment, a host of names were linked with the Liverpool job after Jurgen Klopp announced his departure all the way back in January.

From initial front-runners Xabi Alonso to Ruben Amorim, plenty of other names were considered, including Luciano Spalletti and Ernesto Valverde - which may have come as a surprise to many - and there was also a suggestion that Pep Lijnders was also in the frame.

Naturally as Klopp's assistant manager during his time at Anfield, it just made sense that the 41-year-old was at least considered. Interestingly, whilst confirming that he was indeed examined for the role, Lijnders - who will be the next Red Bull Salzburg boss - has revealed there was one key reason why he wasn't offered a chance to stay at Anfield.

"The first reason was I really felt that this was a project of ‘us’. Jurgen led it and I really felt we should end this project together," he said.

Jamie Carragher accused of bias

Jamie Carragher's decision to rank Jurgen Klopp ahead of Arsenal legend Arsene Wenger when listing his top five managers of the Premier League era has garnered a response from Jack Wilshere.

In fact, taking to social media, the former Gunners midfielder labelled the former Liverpool defender's opinion as 'biased'.

"[It is] unbelievable how he [Klopp] transformed Liverpool but Arsene’s legacy in the Premier League is second to none," Wilshere wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"Sorry Jamie but you are miles off it, please don’t be so biased and respect Arsene and what he did over a longer period, including leading the only team in the premier league to be invincible."
