Marcelo Pitaluga (Macclesfield)

A bright sail of a season for Pitaluga hit a serious iceberg on Tuesday, when he injured and withdrawn from the 6oth minute of Macc’s loss to Runcorn Linnets on Tuesday. Shortly after that, the young Spaniard made his way back to Liverpool to undergo testing for a potential ankle ligament injury. While Pitaluga and Macclesfield await those results, Macclesfield were forced to go without him on Sunday night against Prescott Cables. Pitaluga’s replacement Joe Mason let a very saveable James Egdar header slip in to give the Cables the lead in the 52nd. However, James Berry almost immediately crafted an equaliser, and Dan Cowan fired home a winner in the 83rd to give the Macc the win at the death. The win was a big one for Macclesfield, but Prescott’s goal did showcase some potential problems if Pitaluga isn’t to return fast. Macclesfield now remain at the top of the NPL Division West, with second-placed Leek Town trailing by 4 points.

Jakub Ojrzynski (Radomiak Radom)

To keep busy during the World Cup break, Ojrznski and Radom played a friendly against RB Leipzig on Friday. Ojrzynski was unable to find minutes, yet starter Gabriel Kobylak conceded 6. Radom were thoroughly dominated by the Bundesliga side, with the match finishing 6-0. Liverpool target Konrad Laimer scored alongside Dominik Szoboszlai in the first half, while Ohene Kohl, Szoboszlai again, Simon Schierack, and an own goal from Dominik Sokol rounded up the scoring in the second. It’s a really bad sign for Ojrzynski that he can’t even get in during a friendly when they’re down 6-0, but maybe he shouldn’t be expecting any more as a #2.

Vitezslav Jaros (Stockport County)

My god, you really have to feel for Jaros. After starting out the season in great form, he’s been in the midst of a string of injuries, and he’s now sat out for close to 5-6 weeks. This weekend, he missed a 2-2 FA Cup tie with Charlton Athletic, which will be replayed on Tuesday. Chris Hussey got the match off to a dream start for Stockport, as he opened up the scoring in the 3rd minute. However, Steven Sessegnon and Albie Morgan both scored before the break for Charlton, and Stockport went back into the dressing room trailing by 1. Charlton hung on for 98% of the second half, but than Myles Hippolyte scored a dream equaliser for Stockport in the 7th minute of added time. It’s a great result for Stockport, to draw a League One side, and now they face a massive replay on Tuesday, one of the biggest games of their season.

Jack Bearne (Kidderminster Harriers)

Bearne once again started and played the full 90 for Kidderminster, this time in a 1-0 loss to Gloucester City. Bearne is settling into an important role for Kidderminster, as he finds himself playing more and more every week. It was a proper smash and grab from Gloucester, with Matt McLure providing the only goal, a well-timed finish in the 51st minute. The loss does set Kidderminster back a bit, as they now find themselves in the dead center (12th out of 24) in the National League North, 6 points from a playoff slot and 8 points from the drop zone.

Adam Lewis (Newport County)

Lewis was not even selected for Graham Coughlan’s side to face Derby in the FA Cup. Lewis has continued to see his minutes dwindle down while his replacement Aaron Lewis shines (who provided an assist on Sunday). Centre back Priestley Farquaharson strangely remains one of Newport’s biggest goalscoring threats, and he nodded in the opener on Sunday (off of an Aaron Lewis cross). However, Derby fought back, and young winner Louie Sibley scored an equaliser in the 54th minute. Sibley went on to provide an assist for ex-Sheffield striker David McGoldrick’s late winner in the 88th minute, which sealed the deal for Derby. Newport now find themselves out of the FA Cup, and now will focus on League Two, starting with Friday’s return game against Crewe Alexandra.

Anderson Arroyo (Alaves)

If you’ve read any of these loan watches, you probably know where this is going. Arroyo was predictably an unused substitute as Alaves beat Villarreal B 2-0. Nahuel Tenaglia was once again the preferred man on the right side of defence, and he has been backing that up with his performances. The score remained 0-0 until right before the break, when Pablo Iniguez was ruled to have handled the ball in the box. Salva Sevilla stepped up and delivered a perfect penalty in the top left corner, and just like that, Alaves were leading. Carlos Benavidez extended the lead and effectively won the game in the 85th minute, a goal that made sure Alaves stay top of LaLiga 2, with Las Palmas and Burgos CF trailing by 3 points.
