Leny Yoro is one of the hottest properties on the transfer market right now. Aged just 18 years, the youngster has already established himself as a mainstay for Lille this season.

Having overseen 13 clean sheets and averaging over eight defensive actions per game, the 18-year-old youngster is on the radar of several clubs across the globe and is said to be Real Madrid’s top defensive target for the summer.

Competition growing

The player is firm over his decision to choose Real Madrid should an offer come in, but the presence of other big players in the competition renders the race difficult.

After all, Los Blancos refuse to meet Lille’s €60 million asking price.

According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio now, Liverpool have entered the race as a serious candidate in recent hours and are pushing to complete Yoro’s signing.

Also in the race are Manchester United and PSG, of whom the latter is said to be willing to meet the French club’s asking price.

Real Madrid’s chances are thus dwindling by the hour unless they re-enter with a big offer.

In the player’s hands

Yoro’s current contract with Lille runs until the summer of 2025, handing Real Madrid a massive edge in the race if indeed the youngster prioritises Madrid.

With the youngster set to be a free agent in just over a year, Lille will be forced to listen to Yoro and accept a lower offer from Los Blancos if the youngster stands his ground and threatens to leave for free next summer.

The ball, thus, is in Yoro’s court and the men in white want the youngster to show personality and stand up for a move to Madrid. Pressure from clubs like PSG and Liverpool, however, does not help their cause.
