According to The Athletic, Liverpool have ended their pursuit of Leny Yoro (18) due to the player’s preference to play for Real Madrid. The Lille defender has made it clear to interested suitors that he wants to play for the La Liga club leading to several clubs pulling out of the race.

Yoro has been in high demand across the summer. The Reds were one of many clubs linked with a move for the 18-year-old should a move to Real Madrid not materialise. However, with the player clear on his desire to play for the Champions League winners, the Premier League club have made the decision to withdraw their interest.

No fresh offer from Real Madrid

Despite Yoro being clear in his wishes to move to the Spanish capital, there is yet to be any headway made in negotiations between Les Dogues and Los Blancos, The Atheltic reports. Madrid have shown no inclination to match the bid which has been accepted by Lille from Manchester United for the France U21 international.
