Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has ducked a question about his feelings towards Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Van Dijk is again playing this season after missing much of the last campaign after suffering a knee injury in a clash with Pickford at Goodison Park.

Asked by AD how he felt seeing Pickford playing for England in the Euros final last summer, Van Dijk responded: "So I am not going to make any statements about that, because then you do not know how they will translate that in the media in England.

"But I really wanted to be with the boys at the European Championship. That is also why we have to ensure that we are in the remaining matches against Montenegro and Norway to qualify."
