Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg says he'd welcome a loan return to Preston next season.

The Dutchman has started the last 11 games for the Lilywhites, playing at right-back, wing-back and most recently his natural position of centre-back in the goalless draw at Stoke on Saturday.

Van den Berg said, "For me it's further down the line yeah, of course I have noticed it (fans liking him) a little bit which makes me happy and confident - that people are happy for me to be here.

"That is nice to hear and like I say I'm really enjoying it here.

"And if in the summer my time at Liverpool isn't ready yet and I have to go out on loan again, then if Preston is still an opportunity for me I would love to come back.

"That's an easy answer for me, I love it here."
