Liverpool defender Konate: I don't know why Deschamps ignored me

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate admits he's frustrated missing France selection this week.

Konate was speaking just minutes after their Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid.

He told local French television: "What do I miss to go to the France team? I have no idea, the coach knows better than me.

"Me, I do my performances, I think they are good. It's still a goal, but if he doesn't call me, I'm not going to complain. I will continue to work, redouble my efforts to achieve this goal fairly quickly.

"The World Cup? Of course it's a goal. And not just for me, but for all the other players, the other defenders in my position who have not been called up. It's very good that there are so many good players in the France team, it allows us to be over-motivated and to work."
