Liverpool are reportedly ‘interested’ in signing Las Palmas midfielder Alberto Moleiro but Barcelona and Real Madrid are also battling for his services.

This afternoon we have a new player added to Liverpool’s apparent ever-growing list of transfer targets.

While they want to use most of their budget next summer to buy Jude Bellingham, a few more signings are likely needed to freshen up Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

This is necessary given that Liverpool’s squad is not getting any younger and adding more youthful players to their squad is not a terrible idea.

Club legend John Barnes has suggested that they should use Harvey Elliott, Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz to build for the future. And Moleiro is a teenager who could be added to this group.

The 19-year-old has already been capped at U21 level for Spain and he has progressed through the ranks at Segunda Division side Las Palmas.

The versatile attacking midfielder has played 51 times for his boyhood club. He has grabbed three goals and four assists in this time.

Spanish outlet AS (via Sport Witness) are now reporting that Liverpool have received ‘very good reports’ on Moleiro and he is ‘liked’ by Jurgen Klopp.

He is highly thought of in Spain as he is seen as one of the nation’s ‘greatest talents’. So it comes as no surprise that Barcelona and Real Madrid are ‘eyeing moves’ for him.

Moleiro also has admirers further afield as Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund are ‘keen’ and have sent a scout to track him.

But Liverpool are ‘in contention’ to sign him as they certainly have ‘interest’ in bringing him to Anfield.

If they are going to sign him, Liverpool will likely have to pay a significant fee. The report claims that Las Palmas wanted €15m in the summer but they are now ‘looking for his €3om release clause to be met.’

There may be a rush to sign Moleiro in January, as if Las Palmas are promoted to La Liga, his release clause will increase to €60m next summer.

Las Palmas currently sit third in the Spanish second division but they will be just one point adrift of league leaders Deportivo Alaves if they win their game in hand.

Mundo Deportivo (via Sport Witness) are now reporting that offers for Llorente ‘could be studied’ by the La Liga side.
