ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Ings has been superb for the Saints. The striker has scored 40 goals in 81 appearances. The aforementioned statistic highlights that Ings is a proven Premier League forward.

Ings has also been in decent form this season. The forward is averaging a WhoScored player rating of 7.17 in the Premier League.

With that being the case, we wouldn’t be against Ings returning.

However, as Ings has performed well for Southampton, it would be fair to assume that Liverpool would have to pay a reasonable transfer fee to sign him.

Ings’ current contract does not expire until the summer of 2022, so a free transfer is off the cards for now.
