chances of signing Fiorentina and Morocco international Sofyan Amrabat for Jürgen Klopp’s side at Anfield ‘won’t be harmed’ with the club having a working relationship with the midfielder’s agency in Stellar, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

The Serie A star has just returned from a historic World Cup campaign with the Atlas Lions, in which they became the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

Liverpool transfer news – Sofyan Amrabat

Morocco manager Walid Regragui has stated that Amrabat should be playing for “one of the top ten clubs in the world” in an interview with Arryadia TV (via Viola News), hinting that Liverpool could be an ideal destination for the 26-year-old.

According to reports, the Reds have already made contact with the Fiorentina star’s entourage, with the Premier League side eager to rebuild their midfield ahead of what could potentially be a huge January and summer transfer market for the Anfield side in 2023.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has previously told GiveMeSportthat the possibility of the 46-time Morocco international playing in midfield alongside fellow transfer target Jude Bellingham could be a “frightening” prospect.

And Jones believes that Liverpool’s relationship with the Stellar agency will do the club’s chances of signing the World Cup star no harm whatsoever.

What has Jones said about Liverpool and Amrabat?

When asked if Liverpool’s relationship with Stellar could be key in the transfer of Amrabat, Jones told GiveMeSport: “They’re one of the major agencies in the game and it won’t harm their chances of getting a deal like this done. I think Amrabat himself is in a wonderful situation here.”

How did Amrabat perform at the World Cup?

Judging by his performances at the World Cup, Amrabat could be an excellent addition to Klopp’s midfield in January or the summer.

The £39m valued man played in every second of Morocco’s World Cup campaign, helping the side to a historic fourth-place finish in Qatar this winter.

The Fiorentina man was a rock in the middle of the park for the African nation, making 2.3 tackles per game, 0.9 interceptions and 1.4 clearances per 90 minutes according to Sofascore.

These performances led to the same stats provider giving the midfielder an average rating of 6.83 for his showings in the Middle East, with impressive displays against Belgium, Spain and Portugal helping the north African side achieve history in Qatar.

Therefore, it looks as though Amrabat is destined for a move away from Fiorentina and Liverpool could have a slight advantage in the race for his signature in the coming weeks.
