Liverpool contact Federico Chiesa as Barcelona fall behind in race for Juventus winger | OneFootball

Barcelona have been heavily linked with Juventus winger Federico Chiesa over the past week, as a potentially cheap option for the left-wing spot for the Blaugrana. However it looks like Liverpool have taken the intiative for the 26-year-old winger.

Earlier on Monday it was reported in Italy that Barcelona had reached a deal with Juventus for Chiesa, who is out of contract next summer, and set to leave the club. According to Matteo Moretto, Liverpool have contacted Juventus about Chiesa to find out the terms of a deal, but are yet to move for him, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Several sources have claimed Juventus would be open to a deal for around €15m, but Moretto has gone on to inform Football España that Barcelona are yet to make direct contact with Juventus for Chiesa. They have spoken with his agent Fali Ramadani, but it is yet to go beyond that.

From his perspective, he would be keen on a move to either Barcelona or Liverpool, and while he remains an option for Barcelona in the final stretch of the transfer market, they must first sort out their salary limit issues.
