Will Wright Completes Transfer to Liverpool from Salford City

Young forward joins Reds’ youth setup

Liverpool have completed the permanent signing of 17-year-old striker Will Wright from Salford City.

Wright arrives at the Academy with valuable first-team experience already under his belt. The teenager made his senior debut in November 2024 during an EFL Trophy tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s and has since featured in the FA Cup and League Two.

The promising Welsh forward made the switch to Merseyside last week and was immediately integrated into Rob Page’s Liverpool U21s squad.

He made his first appearance in red on Saturday, coming off the bench for the final 30 minutes of a goalless draw with Hull City at Kirkby.

Liverpool’s recruitment of Wright underlines the club’s continued focus on bolstering their youth ranks with emerging talent. With first-team pathways increasingly visible for Academy graduates, Wright will be looking to impress as he begins the next chapter of his development.
