Liverpool have confirmed that they have received approval to expand the Anfield Road stand at the club’s stadium.
The expansion will see an extra 7,000 seats added, taking the stadium’s capacity to over 61,000.
The club said the work will take place the same way as it did with the Main Stand, which added 8,500 seats and was completed as games were still held at the stadium.
“We needed certainty for this project to progress and are now in a position to be able to move forward,” said managing director Andy Hughes.
“We began this journey in 2014 and are grateful to everyone for the contributions they have made to bring the project to this stage.”
