Liverpool have announced the signing of highly-rated 19-year-old Fabio Carvalho from Fulham.

The news of the winger’s arrival was announced on Monday morning, and according to the Athletic, the fee is £5 million, which will could rise to £7.5 million depending on various clauses.

The deal is also said to include a 20% sell-on fee.

Liverpool have been tracking the Portuguese-born star for some time, with transfer speculation first appearing back in January.

Carvalho came through the youth ranks at Benfica but moved to England with his family in 2013. He represented England up to Under-18 level, before making two appearances for the Portugal Under-21 side earlier this year.

The youngster has been a key part of the Fulham side that has just been promoted to the Premier League, having scored 10 goals and provided eight assists this season.
