Hull City owner Acun Ilicali has certainly looked to make a statement in the transfer window since taking over the club.

The Tigers have made a number of eye-catching signings during his reign, one of which came with the addition of Fabio Carvalho in this January's transfer window.

After spending the first half of the season on loan with RB Leipzig, the Liverpool winger then linked up with Liam Rosenior's side for the second half of the current campaign.

With Carvalho having been linked with the likes of Championship automatic promotion hopefuls Leicester City and Southampton in January, it was a coup for Hull to pull that signing off.

It has certainly proved a productive move for the Tigers as well. The winger has scored eight goals in 16 appearances for the club, to help keep their hopes of promotion from the Championship via the play-offs alive as well.

Now, with just a few weeks remaining in the season and the summer transfer window moving onto the horizon, it seems as though Carvalho's form is starting to attract interest from elsewhere.

Fabio Carvalho in demand

According to a recent update from reporter Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old is now starting to attract attention ahead of the summer transfer window.

It is claimed that several clubs, including ones currently competing in Italy, are now showing an interest in signing the Portuguese youth international once the market opens again.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are for their part, apparently 'happy' with the performances that Carvalho has been producing since he made his move to The MKM Stadium.

As a result, there may well be an argument to be made that this latest update on the winger, will leave those of a Hull City persuasion with rather mixed feelings.

Positives and negatives for Hull from latest Carvalho news

On the one hand, these will be some disappointing elements of this update for those connected with Hull City.

Given the significant impact that Carvalho has made on the pitch since joining the club, it would have been a welcome bit of business for them to complete in the summer.

However, with the fact that there is already some considerable interest emerging in the winger, it could well be hard for them to do that, especially if they are a Championship club still.

It is likely that Liverpool may now want the 21-year-old to get another chance to prove himself in the top-flight, given he hadn't really been able to do that at Leipzig earlier in the campaign.

Alternatively, with the Anfield club seemingly pleased with how things have gone for Carvalho at Hull, they may also want to keep him themselves for next season.

With three years remaining on his contract, they are in a position to do that as well. Either way, it seems as though Hull could struggle to retain the winger's services for the 2024/25 season.

However, there is one aspect of that situation, that could still ensure this becomes more profitable for the Tigers in the long-term.

Given Liverpool are happy with the way that Carvalho is performing there, they may be more willing to send some of their other young prospects to Hull in the future, in the hope their development can be aided with a spell at The MKM Stadium as well.

Indeed, Carvalho does not appear to be a one-off in that regard either. Midfielder Tyler Morton has also spent the campaign on loan with Hull City, with he too excelling for Liam Rosenior's side, and becoming a popular and influential player for the club.

Thanks to that, there may be a confidence around Anfield, that Hull can be an effective loan destination for some of their other promising young talents in the future.

If that does prove to be the case, then the Tigers can at least hope that they may also benefit from such agreements with Liverpool, as they have done this season with the success of the likes of Carvalho.

Given the number of high quality young players there are at Liverpool who will surely be looking to get more senior opportunities from next season.

Hull City must surely look to take advantage of, come the summer transfer window.
