We'll see how that works out for him but he's certainly not the only player who chose Los Blancos over the Reds. Half of Real Madrid's team, it seems, was once linked with Liverpool.

And they're not stopping there. There are reports all over the place linking Real Madrid with certain players at Anfield.

Liverpool believe talks are real

Marca reports that Liverpool bosses believe Real Madrid are already talking to Konate. They’re convinced that there have been discussions and that a potential agreement between the two already exists.

The report goes on to suggest that Liverpool will offer another contract to the Frenchman but if it’s rejected, they may look to sell in this transfer window. None of this should really be a surprise.

It’s just how things work over there and we fully expect that Konate has been in discussions of some sort with them. What’s less clear is Liverpool’s next move.
