Liverpool boss Slot sends Alexander-Arnold message to Real Madrid & Xabi Alonso | OneFootball

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has on Friday sent a message the way if incoming Real Madrid counterpart Xabi Alonso.

This comes in the form of a message regarding Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alonso and Alexander-Arnold are of course set to join forces in Spain this summer, in respective arrivals from Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool.

The latter’s final official fixture for his long-time club will come on Sunday evening, in a Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Alexander-Arnold, upon initially making his decision to move on, may have been hoping for a heartfelt farewell on the part of the Anfield faithful this weekend, owing to the rake of fond memories shared between the parties over recent years.

It has become increasingly obvious of late, however, that as much is not on the cards, as Liverpool’s supporters make clear their anger and disappointment with the Englishman.

Speaking during a press conference on Friday, the aforementioned Arne Slot therefore had little problem in speaking out on the situation, comments which have since caused quite a stir across England and Spain alike.

“Trent Alexander-Arnold is going to leave anyway,” Liverpool’s boss began. ”So why not leave him out, it might be the first gift I can give Xabi Alonso!”
