He said, "There were so many brilliant football moments. We were completely in control of our emotions which was important.

"We wanted to be as calm as possible, knowing we needed to be aggressive as well. The start of the game just calmed everything down. It was the best game from us at Goodison since I arrived."

On a busy December, which will see Liverpool play nine games in 28 days, he added: "We are used to the tough schedule. We have to see how it will be by the middle or end of December but it is a constant conversation.

"It's crazy. It was always crazy and it will always be crazy. Everything is fine until you reach that Christmas time. It is tradition, I get all that, but it is really tough at the end of December."

Asked about the title race, Klopp continued: "It's a very, very good, highest quality league. It's unbelievable how good you have to win a single game in this league.

"You cannot win the league in November and December but you can lose it maybe.

"I can't see it already at the moment as a title race but it is exciting obviously.

"It's not like I'm watching Manchester City or Chelsea thinking I hope that they lose. There are a lot of games to play - let's focus now on the next one."
