Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says a fully fit Thiago Alcantara can make a big difference this season.

The Spain midfielder scored in their Champions League win against Porto.

Klopp said, "Thiago is an outstanding player.

"We have found solutions when he was not available, it's not about one player out or in.

"The quality of team, when the midfielders are fit, we have an incredible choice. Thiago has a very specific skill set, absolutely. It's very helpful on the pitch when he has rhythm, so we have to make sure he gains rhythm but not over do it.

"But we have to that with all the players, with the amount of games coming up. The Wednesday-Saturday is always when we think about how we change."

Ahead of facing Southampton, Klopp continued: "Ralph [Hasenhuttl] is obviously doing well, building a proper team there for each game and especially when they expect not to have the majority of possession.

"They are really well organised, I have to say. Very well drilled team and you have to be creative to break them down. They don't concede a lot of goals, a lot of shots on target. So, that's one of the issues we have to find solutions for.

"It's a home and I hope we really use that, enjoy that because that will be essential."
