ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Back in the summer of 2018, Liverpool signed Keita from RB Leipzig for a transfer fee of €60 million.

But, the 26-year-old has not lived up to his price tag. Keita has only scored eight goals and registered four assists in 81 appearances for Liverpool’s first-team.

However, there are reasons as to why the midfielder has struggled since arriving at Anfield. Keita has not been able to stay on the park due to injuries.

There is no denying that the Guinea international is a good footballer. Footage of Keita highlights that he is a skilful midfielder.

We just haven’t seen the best of the former Leipzig man at Liverpool.

But, we would like to see the club tie Keita down to a new deal. The midfielder possesses a lot of talent, so we are confident that things will eventually click for him.

As we have already pointed out, Keita is only 26 years of age, so his career is far from finished.
