Liverpool are pushing to sign Salford City striker Will Wright for a six-figure sum.
The Anfield club are in advanced talks with him, according to journalist Ben Jacobs.
Liverpool face competition from Arsenal and Manchester City, who are also keen on the 17-year-old sensation.
The Merseyside club want to bolster their attacking ranks and has been linked with Newcastle United hitman Alexander Isak and his Eintracht Frankfurt counterpart Hugo Ekitike.
However, they view a deal for Wright as equally important, given his huge potential and quality.
The wonderkid scored when Salford took on York City in a friendly last Friday – his fourth goal in a week – and Arsenal scouts were present to watch over him.
However, Liverpool will likely be signing him, and he could feature for their first team sooner rather than later if he can convince manager Arne Slot of his quality.
Wright notched a brace against FC United of Manchester last Tuesday and is looking like the real deal despite his age.
The teenager will likely join Liverpool under-21s initially, but he could be handed opportunities to train with the first team.
Wright bagged over 50 goals at youth level last season and will fancy his chances of becoming a top player in a few years.
The Reds have some talented youngsters in their under-21s, and the Salford sensation could soon join them.
