According to a report published in BILD, Liverpool are interested in signing RB Leipzig’s emerging star Benjamin Sesko in the summer window. They want to reinforce their attacking unit for the next season and find him as a viable option.
However, the acquisition of the 20-year-old attacker won’t be easy as multiple European clubs are also in the race. The likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Barcelona also want to hire the services of Sesko. The Reds will have to be quick to get the desired player.
Benjamin Sesko came into the limelight during his stint at the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg. For them, he netted 40 goals in 79 matches and proved his talent. He was then lured away by RB Leipzig for just €24 million last summer.

Sesko has scored 10 goals in 29 matches for the German club since joining them. He is averaging 1.6 shots per game, 0.4 key passes and 0.6 dribbles per game this season. While his passing needs to be improved, he is physically strong on the ball and has good heading technique (stats via whoscored).
The Slovenia striker has a contract that runs until the summer of 2028, including a release clause of €50 million. The clause will be activated the next summer and any team will be allowed to sign the player by triggering the release clause.
Liverpool are already preparing for life without Jurgen Klopp, who is set to leave the club following this season. There is also the possibility of Mohamed Salah exiting the club at the end of the season. Hence, the club is expected to sign a forward player in the summer.
Benjamin Sesko can be a good fit for the Reds. He has shown early signs of greatness and can be a long-term solution. Being just 20 years old, he is likely to improve with time and more experience. However, the management will have to be clever to take him away amid interest from several major clubs.
