Liverpool transfer targets Jude Bellingham and Mason Mount would both be expecting to be a regular part of the starting XI if they signed for the Anfield outfit this summer, journalist Dean Jones has suggested to GiveMeSport.

Jurgen Klopp will be looking at revamping his midfield with four players in the position out of contract at the club and expected to depart this summer.

According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, who was speaking to TEAMtalk, Borussia Dortmund starlet Bellingham is attracted by the prospect of joining Liverpool, but his entourage are concerned about the long-term future of Klopp at Anfield.

The journalist also indicated that the Reds have put in the most work to sign the teenager, giving them an advantage over both Manchester City and Real Madrid in the race for his signature.

Meanwhile, Jones has recently told GiveMeSport that Liverpool could make a move for Chelsea’s Mount if the midfielder refuses to sign a contract extension at Stamford Bridge.

The £80,000 per-week earner’s deal in west London is set to expire in the summer of 2024 and negotiations between the two parties are said to have come to standstill.

Jones believes that the arrival of both Bellingham and Mount would indicate a big change for the squad at Anfield, with the duo likely to expect to be handed places in Klopp’s regular starting XI.

What has Jones said about Bellingham and Mount?

Jones told GiveMeSport: “It’s a big squad change to bring in two players like this, not just into the squad but basically into the starting XI, because that's what both are going to be expecting.”

Will Bellingham and Mount represent good business from Liverpool?

It is widely believed that Liverpool will be forced to spend big on midfield additions this summer, with Dortmund expected to ask for £130m+ for the services of Bellingham.

The £49,000 per-week earner, who is valued at close to £220m by CIES, has made a name for himself following his move to the Bundesliga from Birmingham City in the summer of 2020 and impressed global audiences with his exceptional displays for England at the World Cup in November and December of last year.

Meanwhile, Mount - valued at £70m - is a well-known talent on English shores, having made 127 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, hitting the back of the net 27 times whilst providing 24 assists, showing that he is capable of being a creative presence from the centre of midfield.

The England teammates would likely be quality additions to an ageing Liverpool midfield at the time of writing and would also help the squad fulfil its homegrown quota, providing a further bonus for Klopp next season.
