This enthralling last 16 second-leg tie was played out at Anfield with two of Europe’s most in-form teams going head to head.

The world-class Brazilian stopper was brilliant for most of the half as he suppressed much of what came his way, however, the goal conceded was an unflattering moment.

In the second half the former Roma star was assured and committed to keeping the game alive.

Trent Alexander Arnold – 6.0

The England superstar was keen to gallop forward, though he neglected his defensive responsibilities at times and didn’t offer enough on the ball through the opening 45 minutes.

After the intermission, the academy graduate was more productive until leaving the field due to an injury.

The Scotland international was unsure on the ball though resolute off the ball in a cagey first half.

After the halftime break, the former Hull fullback was strong and productive at either end of the pitch.

The France international defender was at fault for the goal conceded and looked slightly vulnerable at times with the large spaces behind him.

In the second half the former RB Leipzig man was powerful and alert to snuff out any dangers.

The captain and leader of this team looked to push his team forward, though the counter-attacking abilities of the enemy were a tough task to master.

After the restart, the former Celtic man was first to everything and led with immense confidence.

The Duch midfielder was lacklustre and uninspiring in the first half as he often went missing when power and defensive awareness were needed.

After the break, the former Ajax prodigy was better and more energetic as his tea increased their output.

Dominik Szoboszlai – 8.0

The Hungarian skipper was committed to his work and tried to create patterns of play for his teammates.

After the intermission, the former RB Leipzig man was full of energy after the disallowed goal. A blocked shot nearly got his team’s equaliser as the Reds ramped up their play.

The Argentina World Cup winner was keen to show aggression in a tough first half.

In the second 45 minutes, the former Brighton man was more keen to push on and make things happen in the final third.

The Portuguese striker was lacking in movement and awareness as he struggled to make a true impact.

In the second half the former Wolves man was again lacking before leaving the field.

In the second half the former Porto man was more effective and had a header saved spectacularly. More chances nearly paid off as the winger probed continuously.

The Egyptian King was very peripheral in the first half was his impact was limited.

After the break, the record-breaking scorer was very unlucky with an attempted assist for Luis Díaz and a close-range shot which was blocked. More avenues opened up slightly, though the 32-year-old was unable to make his usual impact.
