Tottenham Hotspur hosedt Everton on Monday night in a game which could had huge ramifications in both the race for the top four and the battle to remain in the Premier League.
Here’s what went down.
Scorers: Keane (OG) 14′, Son 17′, Kane 38′, 56′, Reguilón 46′.
Spurs stormed into the lead when Ryan Sessegnon’s cross was inadvertently turned into his own net by Everton defender Michael Keane at the near post under pressure from Harry Kane.
Kane was involved in extending the advantage three minutes later as he played Heung-min Son in before his low drive from the edge of the area slipped under the arms of Jordan Pickford and into the back of the net.
The England captain got in on the goalscoring himself when he was played through by an intricate first-time ball by Matt Doherty before clinically slotting the ball into the bottom corner.
Sergio ReguilĂłn came off the bench to add a fourth with his first touch 40 seconds into the second half.
A Spurs counter-attack led to Dejan Kulusevski slotting the ball across goal for the left-back to smash home at the far post.
Kane added a fifth ten minutes later, catching Doherty’s lofted pass on the volley to rifle home.
