There's more from Arteta who has been speaking about facing Liverpool with a depleted squad

OneFootball Videos

"This is the game. We obviously don’t want to be in this situation but we are lucky to have the squad we have and the attitude to react to difficult situations. We don’t feel sorry for ourselves, we face it and we know how good we are.

"We have different options [in defence]. That partnership [between William Saliba and Gabriel] has been very stable but we have to find a solution. [There's] so much going on with the backline but we have had to adapt to that and the versatile players have been really useful.

"We had a day off after the Champions League and two days to prepare the game. This is a big match, a big opportunity, and we love these kind of matches at the Emirates. The team is really looking forward to it.

"We have to maintain playing with dominance and belief. Our belief, energy and commitment is needed in a big match like this.

"Arne Slot's start has been very good. They are in a really great moment and run. They’re a team who for nine years have been competing at the highest level."

Arteta has been asked whether he has done any more this week to prepare for Liverpool: "After the defeat with 10 men at Bournemouth, we had to pick ourselves up.

"We started the game so well; the first half was really good and it should have been very different with the scoreline.

"It wasn't and, at the end, it left you with the feeling it should have been more.

"They had a day off, two days to prepare for the game, like we always do, and it's a big match.

"We are excited about it, it's a big opportunity. We love these kinds of matches at the Emirates."

Arteta has been asked about how Arsenal fill the void left by the suspended William Saliba: "We have different options, players that already played there before.

"It's true that that partnership (with Gabriel) has been very stable. He's played every single minute and is now not available.

"We have to find a different solution which is something that, as a team, we need to be good at."

Some more from the Arsenal boss on the fitness of his squad ...

Mikel Arteta has finally arrived and has been speaking about his injured stars.

On Calafiori: "He needs some more tests. Yesterday he had some, today he’s going to have some more. Last time we thought it was really bad and then he ended up playing two days later."

On Saka: "He’s done a bit of training on the grass. How far we can get him before Sunday is another question. We will see."

West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui on Mohammed Kudus, who is suspended for three matches after being sent off against Tottenham: "Unfortunately Kudus is going to be out for three matches because his behaviour was not good and he knows that. He knows he has to improve because this can't happen. I hope it's the last time this happens. I'm sure it is not going to happen [again].

"I talked with him and sometimes you don't have to talk a lot about this kind of situation because he knows it was a mistake. I say, for sure, that he will learn about this incident and his behaviour will handle this better in the future."

Ten Hag on team news: "We have to be ready, it's a short turnaround and we expect Bruno [Fernandes] back, and hopefully also Jonny Evans."

On Antony being fit after going off with an injury against Fenerbahce: "I don't know."

And more from Ten Hag ...

On Manuel Ugarte: "For sure, the six position is a key position in your team, and [Ugarte] has to learn this position in our game model. I think today is a step forward, so I'm really pleased with his performance, and from here on he has to build on it.

"We have to stay patient but, as you see, if the quality in that position is not right, it's very difficult for a team to control games, and then I don't even speak about dominating games. So, that position needs one who brings the quality all the time, and we have to integrate him now in this team. As I said, I was pleased with his performance [against Fenerbahce] and from here on he can build up."

On whether 'the six' is a position they've been lacking in: "No, we have Casemiro. Lately he's been doing very good again. We have people there who can fill in that role. We have Kobbie [Mainoo] and I think Christian Eriksen is doing brilliant in this moment."

Erik ten Hag has been speaking ahead of Manchester United's game with West Ham on Sunday. Here's what he had to say ...

On injuries plaguing his side for a second season in a row: "Yeah, that holds us back in our levels, and also in our position in the league. When you don't have the players available, you can't line up the best team, and that is what's holding us back in this moment.

"We need more players available often and then we have to work all together on this point. That is the players, the coaching staff, all the other staff - we have to do better to get more available players, because we know when we have them, we are a really tough team to play [against]. When we have them, we can be really successful, and that is what we have shown over the last couple of months."

And the Wolves boss said more about his VAR comments from last weekend ...

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil has been speaking ahead of their game with Brighton tomorrow ...

On the fitness of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who missed last weekend's defeat by Manchester City: "Sam has trained this week and we will see where he is before making a call tomorrow."

Asked about whether Johnstone would be recalled ahead of Jose Sa: "I'm really clear on who is the best goalkeeper to start for us tomorrow."

Mikel Arteta will be speaking any minute now ahead of Arsenal's clash with Liverpool. Stay tuned!

More from Maresca ...

On striker Nicolas Jackson: "We know very well that he is important for us. On the ball he is working fantastic - he's scoring goals, he's assisting, he's linking with his team-mates; off the ball he is working hard, he's pressing the way we want to press and he's doing fantastic with us.

"We also have Christopher [Nkunku] there. He's going to help us because the season is very long. We have so many games and also sometimes the game plan can be different, it can be more for Christopher than Nico. We also have young talent so we can choose."

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been speaking ahead of his side's clash with Newcastle, insisting that the Toon have been 'unlucky' this season ...

More from Pep's presser ...

On Southampton boss Russell Martin, who has received criticism for his stubborn game plan, Guardiola said: "He will have success sooner or later. Normally when you change your thoughts and ideas then the players will notice and know you’re not a believer.

"It is one of our jobs to convince the players we are in a good way. It is impossible to train them in something if you show you’re not believing.

"I always have a lot of respect for Championship promoted teams. I don’t know how we can complain sometimes [about fixture schedule] because look at how many games the Championship teams play."

On playing a team in the bottom three: "After Champions League games, I prefer to play teams who are better in the table because you focus more and not look at that. But it is what it is.

"They have the courage to play and are brave with the ball. Wolves were at the bottom and we struggled to win."

Pep Guardiola has had his say on Savinho's excellent start to the season: "What I like is I have the feeling [Savinho] wants to be the best. The best on the pitch, to try things and participate in everything, to have the ball and try again.

"That defines the really good players. With courage, consistent with his ambition he will get there."

Some more injury updates from the Man City boss ...

But Guardiola has confirmed that both Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker will miss their game against Southampton this weekend.

Pep Guardiola is currently talking and has admitted he is "not worried" about Phil Foden following the England international's tough start to the season.

Here are the times of the pressers in GMT ...

Arne Slot revealed first thing that Diogo Jota will miss Liverpool's clash with Arsenal on Sunday whilst Ange conceded that Heung-min Son is out of Spurs' trip to Crystal Palace.
