Scorers: Werner 28′, Mount 85′.
Chelsea are currently 2-0 up against Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Timo Werner and Mason Mount.
Karim Benzema had come closest for the visitors with a curling effort from the edge of the area which forced a brilliant one-handed save from Edouard Mendy.
But Werner has put his team ahead after reacting first to Kai Havertz’s effort which was chipped onto the bar, the German headed into the empty net to give Chelsea the lead.
Benzema almost equalised immediately for Los Blancos but his header was well tipped over the bar by Mendy.
Havertz almost extended their lead straight after the restart with a thumping header which crashed against the top of the crossbar.
Havertz then missed another golden opportunity for Thomas Tuchel’s side when he ran through on goal but Courtois was equal to deny his shot with his feet.
But Mason Mount has put the game beyond doubt after forcing home Christian Pulisic’s pull-back in the 85th minute.
