The records keep coming for Hungary.....

Linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, you feel it could be a big tournament for the young defender.

England kick off their tournament tomorrow evening against Serbia, and there has been speculation over the fitness of John Stones.

However, the defender seems to be back in training after shaking off illness.

Just how crucial will he be this summer given Southgate is already without Harry Maguire in the heart of defence?

Hungary have also named their starting XI

Headlined by RB Leipzig duo Péter Gulácsi and Willi Orbán, they are captained by Liverpool man Dominik Szoboszlai, who will become the youngest captain in EURO history when he steps onto the pitch.

Team News for Switzerland is in!

Familiar faces across the board as Yann Sommer takes his spot as no.1, with Granit Xhaka pairing Remo Freuler in midfield and Manuel Akanji at the back.

At the top of the pitch, they will be relying on Ruben Vargas but there is also a competitive debut for striker Kwadwo Duah, who has only ever played 45 minutes for Switzerland.

Now for a trip down memory lane...

On this day back in 2018, Spain were once again in action.

But it was a certain Cristiano Ronaldo who stole the headlines with an immense hat-trick to snatch a draw, culminating with this late free kick.

For those interested, you can read more about it here.

Five years on, is he in with a shout for back to back Golden boots at European Championships?

Spain's Lamine Yamal is poised to become the youngest player in EURO history this summer, with the prodigy not even born for his country's EURO 2008 success and only turning 17 the day after the final.

Already Spain's youngest ever player and scorer, he is poised for a potential breakout tournament on the world stage.

Speaking ahead of the opening game, Spanish head coach Luis de la Fuente claimed his talents were "almost a gift from God".

Believe it or not, there are still transfers being talked about. Can't it just wait a month?

Anyway, if the papers are to be believed, Sergi Roberto could be leaving Barcelona, Eberechi Eze could be on the move, Man United want Matthijs de Ligt and Arsenal will sell Emile Smith Rowe.

We enjoyed Toni Kroos' excellent passing performance last night, but now it is the turn of his Real Madrid midfield partner Luka Modric, for whom this is also likely to be the last European Championships.

He and Croatia haven't enjoyed them much, never making it past the quarter final stages of the competition in six attempts, and they seem to save their best for the World Cup.

But there is undoubtedly talent among their ranks, with the likes of Man City pair Joško Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic, FC Bayern's Josep Stanisic and striker Andrej Kramaric all among those in line to start.

Can they make it out of a tough group and defy their history? Let us know what you think below.

Are Switzerland the tournament's dark horses?

With Granit Xhaka having enjoyed the season of his life at Bayer Leverkusen, and Premier League winner Manuel Akanji at the back, they will be eyeing up second place in the group.

Traditionally a low scoring side, they notably knocked out France at the last European Championships, but four years on they are still likely to be relying on tricky Xherdan Shaqiri for the odd moment of magic.

Then again, he has form....

England kick off their tournament tomorrow, but will have to do without defensive stalwart Harry Maguire.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford was quizzed on his absence yesterday, and admitted he'll be a big miss.

Back to today's action, and Italy come into the tournament in an odd position.

The defending Champions, they are in a tricky group and have a squad that is largely untested.

Greats from the 2021 success have retired, meaning that just 11 of Luciano Spalletti's side have ever played in a European Championship before.

Our friends at Football Italia have covered it in more detail here.

How do you expect the Azzurri to do this summer? Let us know in the comments.

Musiala has been hailed as the 'next Messi' in some quarters, though that tag is now applied to any midfielder under the age of 21 that can dribble.

Meanwhile, the current Messi isn't going away quietly, and found the back of the net twice as his side thumped Guatemala in their Copa America warm up, which you can read about here.

They won't come much easier than this mind.

Among the excellent performances from Germany, young Jamal Musiala stood out.

The Bayern man was too hot to handle for Scotland, and powered in the second goal of the night. Even Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann was impressed.
