Lionel Messi has insisted that he would not swap his countless Barcelona trophies to become world champion with Argentina.
Despite winning 10 LaLiga titles and four Champions League trophies during his time at Camp Nou, international glory has been harder to come by for the record-breaking goalscorer.
A World Cup final in 2014 is as close as Messi has got to Albiceleste immortality, but despite not winning on the international stage, the 32-year-old has claimed that he has no regrets.
“I would’ve loved to be a world champion,” Messi told TyC Sports.
“But I don’t think I would change anything else in my career to be one.
“This is what I was given, what God gave me. It is what it is.
“I couldn’t dream of everything that I experienced after. It was far bigger than anything I could’ve imagined.”
