The scenes in Argentina since they became world champions have been absolutely crazy.

Millions of Argentines have gathered in Buenos Aires to celebrate their country’s third World Cup triumph with Tuesday being declared a public holiday.

OneFootball Videos

The Argentina squad flew back from Qatar and enjoyed an open-top bus parade through the city.

As a result, the squad took to the skies in helicopters to complete their parade.

There are thousands of videos all over social media that show just how amazing the celebrations were. We could watch them all day.

However, we’ve come across one video while the Argentine players were on their open-top bus that we find pretty hilarious.

Filmed by a fan who had just seen the bus pass, it shows Rodrigo De Paul standing up and celebrating. The bus jolts and leaves De Paul almost losing his balance. Lionel Messi is sat next to him, lapping up the fans.

But when De Paul almost falls, Messi has seen enough.

He looks up at the Atletico Madrid man and simply signals with his head to sit down. De Paul does so immediately.

Many fans have joked that De Paul is Messi’s bodyguard with the midfielder never more than a few metres away from the superstar, always backing him up.

It’s quite funny to see Messi have that kind of influence on his Argentine teammates off the pitch.

Who said he’s not a leader?

While Messi was seen to be acting like a leader during the victory parade, he certainly led by example during the World Cup.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner scored seven goals during Argentina’s campaign and produced a string of incredible performances.

While he may have been pipped to the Golden Boot by Kylian Mbappe, he deservedly claimed the Golden Ball – the award for the best player in the tournament.

He’s also broken the record for the most likes on an Instagram post for his first upload after the World Cup win.

In it, he wrote: “CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!!!!!!! 🌎🏆 So many times I dreamed it, so much I wanted it that I still don’t fall, I can’t believe it…… Thank you so much to my family, to all who support me and also to all who believed in us. We prove once again that Argentinians when we fight together and united we are able to achieve what we aim. The merit is of this group, which is above individuals, is the strength of all fighting for the same dream that was also the one of all Argentinians… We did it!!! LET’S GO ARGENTINA DAMN!!!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻 We’re seeing each other very soon… 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷”
