Is this the clearest indication yet that Lionel Messi will be heading to Manchester City in the summer?

No, no it isn’t, because the Argentine superstar is merely using the City Football Academy to train with his national team ahead of this Friday’s friendly with Italy at the Etihad Stadium.

The more interesting news for City fans is that Sergio Agüero – who is currently out with a knee injury – was present at the training session and looks to be on course to return to action in time for the Premier League clash with Everton in 11 days time.

But who knows, if he’s suitably impressed with the facilities at the CFA, perhaps Agüero will find convincing Messi to swap Barcelona for East Manchester that little bit easier come the summer.

Our advice would be to not hold your breath on that one.
