Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has said Real Madrid have the world’s best players.

In an interview with TyC Sports, the Argentine said Barça’s great rivals not only have incredible talent but one thing Barcelona really can’t compete with: the ability to win when playing poorly.

“Position by position, Madrid have the best players in the world,” Messi said.

“[Barça] do as well, but Madrid have something that only they have. When they play badly, they still get results. We have to be the far superior side to win.”

Clearly Barcelona have done alright this season, winning the LaLiga title with time to spare.

There was more disappointment in the Champions League, where Madrid have reached another final, but that doesn’t nothing but drive the 30-year-old on.

“It motivates me to see Madrid in the Champions League final again; to see them winning leagues. I want to win the Champions League every year. I want to be a league champion every year – it’s what we all want.”
