While Lionel Messi struggled to score goals in his first season with Paris Saint-Germain, the 35-year-old succeeded in becoming a playmaker. However, in his second season with the capital club, Messi has drastically improved, becoming a balanced player.

Despite the Argentine finding the back of the net more often during the 2022-23 football campaign, Messi isn’t scaling back on his ability to facilitate and find his teammates.

In a recent interview with Le Parisien (h/t Paris Fans), beIN Sports pundit Omar Da Fonseca spoke of his admiration for the veteran forward.

Additionally, he states that Messi has finally adapted, particularly by favoring the role of playmaker over being the player that carries the goal-scoring responsibilities.

“Messi still has this factory of technical gestures in his legs, but puts it at the service of the game before putting it at the service of the result,” Da Fonseca told the French publication.

“Last season, his head and legs were not in line. But when the brain and the body are in perfect harmony, we see what happens!”

Messi is in good form and looks more comfortable in Year 2 at PSG, which bodes well for the Argentina national team with the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November.

Furthermore, if PSG is going to win the UEFA Champions League, they’ll need this version of Messi to conquer the trophy that has long eluded the capital club.
