Lionel Messi finally got his hands on the World Cup earlier this month at the fifth time of asking.
Argentina came up short each time, despite the legendary footballer’s best efforts,
But Messi, most definitely making his last appearance in the tournament in 2022, was determined to win it all in Qatar.
And he did just that as he guided Argentina to glory.
Messi won the Golden Ball as Argentina defeated France in the final to win their third World Cup trophy.
Many football fans around the world were overjoyed to see Messi finally win football’s most prestigious trophy.
And one football fan went to extreme lengths to convey their joy.
Following the final, Colombian influencer Mike Jambs (Instagram user mike_jambs) got the word ‘Messi’ inked on his forehead, as well as three stars on one of his cheeks.
He also got ‘D10S’ tattooed on his other cheek, a combination of the Spanish word for God and the player’s number 10 shirt. View the football fan’s Messi tattoo below…
The fan received backlash for his tattoo but initially did not regret his decision.
“I’m not harming anyone, I’m not doing anything illegal,” he said in response to his critics, per the Daily Mail.
But the trolling continued and the Colombian influencer’s stance on his tattoo soon changed.
He now regrets getting the tattoo and wishes he could reverse time.
“I regret having done the tattoo because instead of bringing me positive things, it’s led to lots of negative things, both personally and for my family.
“I didn’t think I’d be saying this so soon and I felt very proud of what I’d done in the first few days, but I now wish I hadn’t done it.”
You’ve got to respect the fan’s bravery for getting the tattoo in the first place.
It’s a shame he now regrets it after being the target of trolls.
