Lionel Messi's departure from Barcelona is already hitting the club's finances.

Brand Finance via AS estimates that the move to PSG of Messi means that Barcelona will lose up to 11 per cent of its brand value.

For commercial income, Barcelona will lose 77 million euros. To this should be added another €17 million due to the loss of sales on match days and another €43m due to the fall in sales of shirts, since 80% of the strips that fans bought were with the Messi name.

In terms of season tickets, drops of €40 million are estimated, because more than 26,000 members have dropped out this season.

Barcelona's situation on a commercial level is further complicated since Rakuten, the main sponsor of the club's jersey and which contributes €30 million this campaign, announced that it will stop sponsoring Barça from next season.
