After 727 days, the new winners of footballās most coveted awards were announced on Monday evening.
Lionel Messi has won the Ballon dāOr for a record seventh time.
The 34-year-old made 56 appearances in 2021 recording 41 goals and 17 assists while also leading Argentina to the Copa América title.
The Paris Saint-Germain star beat out the likes of Bayern Munichās Robert Lewandowski (second) and Chelseaās Jorginho (third).
Meanwhile, Alexia Putellas won the Ballon dāOr FĆ©minin after anchoring Barcelonaās midfield during their treble last season.
The 27-year-old midfielder made 57 appearances for club and country in 2021 recording 39 goals in the process.
Barcelonaās Jennifer Hermoso and Chelseaās Sam Kerr came second and third respectively.
Additionally, four more awards were up for grabs.
The Kopa Trophy for best player under 21 went to Pedri (Barcelona) and Gianluigi Donnarumma (Paris Saint-Germain) took home the Yashin Trophy for the best goalkeeper.
The brand new Striker of the Year award was won by Robert Lewandowski and Club of the Year went to Chelsea.
