Lionel Messi has dominated world football for over a decade, but when it comes to the Champions League, he has had a particular appetite for English opposition.
According to Squawka Football, Messi has scored more against English clubs in Europe’s premiere competition than any other nation in his career.
Though he’s ‘only’ scored twice against Manchester United in four career matches, both of those goals came in Champions League final victories.
In the 2009 final, Messi scored this header from a phenomenal Xavi cross to give Barcelona the 2-0 lead they would hold onto until the end.
Two years later, Messi scored one of the most memorable goals in his entire career, beating Edwin van der Sar in the 54th minute to give Barcelona a 2-1 lead en route to a 3-1 victory.
