‘Limbs as usual’, Celtic defender reacts to brilliant Hampden scenes

Celtic defender Alistair Johnston has reacted to the brilliant clip of the Celtic support celebrating Adam Idah’s winner on Saturday. The Irishman struck in the 90th minute after capitalising on a mistake from Jack Butland, who failed to hold Paulo Bernardo’s shot.

The 90th minute goal sparked incredible scenes in the Celtic End, which the Scottish Cup shared a clip of earlier today. Taking to Twitter/X, Johnston commented “limbs as usual”.

The players were absolutely jubilant as well and, in the midst of the celebrations in the East Stand, you’d be forgiven for missing some of their reactions. Cameron Carter-Vickers took a wee lie down while Matt O’Riley celebrated wildly on the right hand side.

Johnston collected the ball after Scott Wright’s poor touch before sending it into the feet of Callum McGregor. The skipper turned and played the ball towards Daizen, who touched it down for Bernardo. It was a swift transition from defence to attack by Celtic and one that proved to be pivotal.

Johnston was brilliant defensively, especially in the last twenty five minutes of the game. Tasked with dealing with Fabio Silva and Rabbi Matondo, the Canadian Internationalist stood up to them, was strong in the tackle and composed in possession. AJ has been a brilliant signing, improving the backline and clearly understanding what the club is all about.
