Lille to sign Ajax defender Sven Botman for €7m

Voetbal International has claimed that Lille have secured the signing of 20-year-old Ajax defender Sven Botman for €7m.

The Netherlands youth international was sensational on loan at Heerenveen and agreed to a new Ajax deal this summer but the Dutch giants have decided to part ways with the centre-back.

The player will receive a five-year deal while Ajax may receive additional funds should Botman achieve certain targets with the Ligue 1 side.

Though Botman never featured once for the Ajax first-team, he’s a highly-regarded player who felt like he would not receive the minutes he desires in the Ajax first-team.

As for Lille, they finished in fourth place, one point behind Rennes, and will take part in the Europa League group stage next season.
